U.S. President Donald Trump took another swipe at Iran’s economy, sharing a graphic on Truth Social claiming that “Iran has NO MONEY.”
The graphic blamed Iran’s economic struggles on what Trump described as “51 years of bad behaviour” and highlighted the sharp decline of the Iranian rial against the U.S. dollar.
The post quickly attracted attention online, with social media users responding with jokes Iran’s “Oil are real money.”
Trump has continued to emphasize Iran’s economic difficulties as tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high.
The image shared by Trump claimed that 1 million Iranian rials was worth about $1.11 in early 2025 but had fallen to around $0.53 by the third quarter of 2026. A downward-sloping graph illustrated the Iranian currency’s decline over several quarters, ending with the caption “Currency is Trash” alongside a trash-bin icon.
As tensions between the United States and Iran continue, Trump’s post has added another political jab at Tehran’s economic situation. The graphic quickly drew attention online, with some users mocking Iran’s currency while others pointed to the country’s vast oil resources.
