“Every doctor in Egypt asks his patient, ‘Why do you charge only 10 rupees when you charge 40?”
The doctor replied…
“One of the professors at the medical school told us one day,
Medicine is a humanistic profession, not a commercial profession. You should not build a beautiful house, buy a luxury car, or study medicine for that. Study the stock market or international trade instead.”
Journalist.. – “Dr. Mashali, you have been providing your services and medicines to the poor for free for 40 years. Is there any reason for that?”
“Yes, there is a definite reason,
A mother came to me with her son one day to get some medicine for her illness. After she finished taking the drug, her son said, “Mom, I need some insulin to help with the pain.”
Then the mother said, “Son, if you take some insulin to help with the pain, you and your younger brother won’t have enough money to buy anything to eat.”
She said, “The boy had diabetes. After they went home, I got a call from the house saying that the boy had drunk.
I went to their house quickly, but couldn’t save the boy. He died in my arms.
Then the child’s mother gave me an exercise book where the deceased child had written something before he drank the poison.
“Mom, I won’t bother you asking for insulin from now on. I will use that money to buy my younger brother. “Give your sister a good meal.”
You should understand now why I treat people with low incomes for free…
